Secret friendship notebook from 7th grade; 1994
I wanted to know who my friends thought were cute- I wouldn’t tell them my crush. I was filled with embarrassment over my secret love of Harrison Ford as Han Solo. Man, I called Patrick Swayze “the guy in Dirty Dancing.”

When I was little my Uncle Dave + Aunt Ellen got me a purple Mickey Mouse camera for Christmas. This is one of the earliest pictures I took with it. I made my brother Dave and his best friend Melissa kiss each other for the camera. The purpose of the picture was future blackmail; I didn’t realize it would be cool to kiss pretty girls someday. I also found this note Melissa wrote my brother. So awesome.

Friendly’s closes 63 stores as ice cream chain files for bankruptcy
- Friendly Ice Cream Corp., the troubled family restaurant chain that was a casualty of a tough economy and changing customer preferences, said it closed 63 of its nearly 500 locations as it looks to reorganize under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
NoooooooOooooOoooo. I went here so much with my family when I was growing up in NJ. They have the worst service and the BEST ice cream. I’ll miss you, Friendly’s! Especially your clown sundaes and watermelon logs.
